The ability of bacteria to bind to epithelial cells is one of the important factors. Experiments showed that the three strains of NB PROBIO-U Complex Powder had the ability to bind to urethral epithelial cells (SV-HUC-1), and thus could compete with urethral pathogens to bind to urethral epithelial cells, so as to reduce the growth of pathogens in urethra.

IL-6 is a cytokine that causes inflammation, and its level is correlated with the severity of urinary tract infection.
